Obituary

Eutemio M. Villareal, 98, of Tilden, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023 in Jourdanton.  He was born on October 19, 1924 in Tilden to Anselmo Villareal and Facunda Martinez Villareal.

Eutemio is a veteran of the United States Navy, where he proudly served during WWII.  After coming back from the war he began his career with the Texas Highway Department, retiring after 37 years of service.  He picked up the craft of Leather making and even turned it into a business.  He was a very talented man and could make just about anything.  He enjoyed ranch life, tending to his cattle, and working the land.

Eutemio was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.  He showed his boys how to love and respect their wives through his actions, always opening doors and holding his love's hand.  He was an example of a respectful gentleman, who adored his wife and still enjoyed taking care of her to the very end.  He was a hard worker and a quiet man, with a strong work ethic and belief in being a good steward of both your time and money.  Eutemio left big shoes to fill and will be dearly missed.

Eutemio is preceded in death by his parents Anselmo and Facunda Villareal; siblings Lupe Gonzales, Pabla Samora, Brigido Villareal, Miguel Villareal, and Elvira Valdez; daughter-in-law Melba Villareal; son-in-law Bobby Esquivel.

He is survived by his loving wife and his muse of 75 years Beatrice S. Villareal; children Anselmo S. Villareal Sr., Arturo Villareal, and Josie Esquivel; brother Agapito Villareal; sisters Juanita Garza and Santos Villareal Garza; grandchildren Anselmo Villareal Jr. (Brook), Alonzo Villareal, Homer Garza (Rosie), Lamar Hassette (Jimmy), Laura Ridgway, Jessica Montez (Rey), Eutemio Villareal Jr. (Shea), and Brandon K.
