Herrera

Poteet
Fernando Herrera, devoted Jehovah's Witness, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, died Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the age of 57. He was born to Tranquilino and Augustina Herrera on September 1, 1966, in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas Mexico.
He married his beloved wife, Dorotea Campos in South Bend, Indiana, July 10, 1993.
In 2007, he and his wife moved to San Antonio, Texas, where they purchased a piece of land and made it their home for the last 17 years. Fernando dearly loved his wife, Dorotea, and made sure she was always taken care of and put her needs above his own.
Fernando never met a stranger and loved having his family and friends around. He loved animals, being outside, working around the house and his property. He also loved to cook for his family. Whenever an opportunity was given, he loved to declare his faith. He thoroughly believed the Bible as the word of God and lived his life in harmony with Romans 10:9-10.
He had a big heart and a big sense of humor and loved cutting up with his children and grandchildren. He loved it when his grandchildren would come to spend time with him. His grandchildren from Indiana looked forward to their Texas time with Grandpa Fernie.
Fernando was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Blanca Estella, and two siblings, Claudio Herrera and Gabino Herrera.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorotea, five children, William Limon (fiancé, Jaxira), Rudy Limon (married to Kasey), Teodoro Carmona (married to Adriana), Dahlia Kenley (married to John), and Eliseo Herrera. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings, Hermelinda Herrera (married to Martin Gonzalez), Heraclio Herrera (married to Elizabeth), Jose Herrera (married to Susana), Nery Herrera (married to Oscar Garay) and Alejandro Sanchez (married to Yadira Juare).
