Florencia Gomez Martinez passed away in Jourdanton on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 72.  She was born in Mexico on September 27, 1952, to Dolores Hernandez and Estella (Gonalez) Hernandez.

Florencia was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Maria Martinez; and sister Maria Luisa Gomez.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Martinez; daughter, Margarita Martinez; sons, Gerardo Martinez and Benjamin Martinez, Jr. (Rosa Linda Huerta); grandchildren, Benjamin Martinez, III, Cathleen Hinojosa (George), Linda Maribit Martinez Huerta, Yasmin Martinez Huerta, Kasandra Reyna (Roger Martinez), Esmeralda Reyna (Adrian), Ervey Reyna, Jr., Juan Reyna, Alexander Martinez, Zenaida Martinez, Aubry Urrabas, Guadalupe Ramos (Juan), Leobardo Ramos, Jr., and Guillermo Ramos; and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Luis Gomez and Pedro Gomez; and sister, Dolores Gomez.

A visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 4, 2024, at Hurley Funeral Home Pleasanton, starting at 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm.  Mass will celebrated be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Charlotte, starting at 10:00 am followed by burial at Charlotte Community Cemetery.
