Florinda G. Alvarado of Jourdanton, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025 at the age of 100. She was born on April 18, 1925 in Poteet, to Antonio Alvarado and Margarita (Guerra) Alvarado.

Florinda is survived by her sons, Juan Escalera (Johnni) and Oscar Escalera; grandchildren, Johnny Joe Escalera (Dawn), John Escalera, Krystal Escalera, Oscar Escalera, Jr., and Lynette Escalera; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Arturo Alvarado (Angelita); sister, Sally Rodriguez (Roger); along with nieces, nephew and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Antonio Alvarado, Jr., Jacinto Alvarado and Emma Brown; and grandchildren, Valerie Escalera and Tommy Escalera.

Services are scheduled for Friday, October 3, 2025 starting with a visitation at 9:00 am, a reciting of the rosary at 10:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 11:30 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Jourdanton, followed by burial at The AGA Family Cemetery.
