Frankie Lee
Wilkins
Mar 8, 1942 — Jan 8, 2026
Poteet
Frankie Lee Wilkins was born on March 8, 1942, in Jourdanton, Texas. Frankie was the fifth child of eight, born to Ford and Lois Erwin Rutherford.
Frankie passed away January 8, 2026, in Poteet, Texas at the age of 83. She married Ikie Wilkins on June 4, 1960, and was a devoted wife for 65 years. She became a mother on December 28, 1962, to her and Ikie's only child Brenda Young of Poteet.
Frankie enjoyed her life as a housewife and grandmother to her two grandchildren, Kevin Sparks, wife Rachel and Heather Meyers, husband Ethan. She spent her early years as a grandmother babysitting and spending countless hours with Kevin and Heather growing up. Frankie was there for all the pivotal moments in their lives. She loved and was entertained almost daily by her six great grandchildren, Kylie Sparks, Nicolas Sparks-Meyers, Bryson Sparks-Meyers, Landon Wright, Avery Sparks and Mark Meyers.
Frankie loved her family and spending time on weekends playing cards, dominos and left-right-center. She was an amazing seamstress and cook. Frankie was quite the yard lady too. Her yard was emasculate and her flowers gorgeous. On the very afternoon of Frankies passing, Heather walked outside to find her rose bushes in full bloom. Her gift of gardening will be enjoyed for many more years.
Frankie was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers, Jack Rutherford, Jim Rutherford, and Lake Rutherford; sister Ollie Bartosh and Mary Burns.
Frankie is survived by her husband Ikie; daughter Brenda; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Nettie Ruth Crab and Kathy Campbell; along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of lifelong friends.
Please keep Frankie's family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate life without her.
