It is with great and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Genevieve "Genna" Carol Gebheim McLeod Esq., who departed this life on August 15, 2026, at the age of 54. She was born on February 7, 1972, in Newport Beach, California, to Janie Gebheim and Gerald Gebheim. Genna lived a life marked by intellect, artistry, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those around her.

A distinguished attorney, Genna co-owned a successful law firm with her beloved husband, Mark McLeod Esq., in multiple states. Together, they built a practice that was not only a testament to their professional acumen, but also reflected their shared values of compassion and community support.

Genna's exceptional talents in estate and probate law were complemented by her meticulous attention to detail and remarkable administrative mind, which allowed her to use her skills to care for and assist those around her.

Prior to being an attorney, Genna proudly served as a United States Navy Electronics Technician Nuclear (ETN). She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Millsaps College and her Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law.

Her fierce spirit was present in all facets of her life, from her enthusiastic participation in a myriad of games and outdoor adventures, to her creative passions, which included live music, architecture, creative writing, and textile art.

Genna frequented concerts and local shows from a variety of musicians, such as Sting, George Strait, and Melissa Ethridge. She was actively engaged in writing, with several complete short stories and the drafting of a novel. She was designing a pool for the family home and Genna made numerous family heirlooms from an assortment of textiles. She cherished the beauty of nature, finding joy in multiple landscapes with a special place in her heart for the ocean: home to her favorite animal the humpback whale.

As a devoted mother, Genna exuded warmth and care, exemplified by her role as the team manager for her sons’ sprint race karting team, prioritizing safety for those involved. A role she was primed for after over a decade of soccer matches and camps for her children. She was a steadfast supporter of the Texas Longhorns (Hook ‘em Horns!) and an honorary fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, a nod to her love for her husband. She carried a love of athletics and motorsports with her throughout her life.

A generous, compassionate, and loyal spirit, Genna always arrived with a smile, an open heart, and something to share, like her peach cobbler or banana pudding, embodying the qualities of an amazing friend, wife, and mother. She encouraged all her children and those near her to pursue their dreams and believe in their abilities even if the odds felt insurmountable. Her legacy will endure in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and generosity.

In honor of her life, funeral services will be held on August 25, 2026. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM. The funeral service will commence at 7:00 PM, with cremation following the service. Genna’s final resting place will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Ceremonies will be held at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 1435 W Oaklawn Rd, Pleasanton, TX 78064. Genna is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Harry Albert Gebheim Sr., and Genevieve Esther George Gebheim, and her maternal grandparents Jimmy Davis Fairchilds Sr., and Mary “Mamaw” Carroll Fairchilds. Genna is survived by her husband of 23 years, Mark Thomas McLeod Esq.; her mother, Janie Carroll Fairchilds Gebheim; her father, Gerald Carl Gebheim; and her sister, Gelaine Elizabeth Gebheim. As well as her beloved children Emily Esther Gebheim Smoot, Gabriel “Cassidy” Ashton Gebheim McLeod and Davis Aristotle Gebheim McLeod; and numerous members of her extended family and friends. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May she rest in peace.
