Gerald Jerry Alvarado, Jr., passed away on Saturday,  January 4, 2025, at the age of 50. He was born on September 22, 1974, in San Antonio, to Gerald Jerry Alvarado, Sr. and Patricia (Cobos) Silva.

Gerald graduated from South San High School in 1992 and worked as a diesel mechanic, for Ranger Energy and Frac-Tec in the oil field industry. He was known not just for his skills under the hood but for the devotion he put into everything he did.

Gerald also enjoyed home improvements. It was another challenge that he enjoyed tackling, making his home even cozier. His love for BBQ was legendary, and he competed in numerous BBQ competitions, earning a reputation for his award-winning dishes. Gerald took joy in BBQing not just for pleasure but also to support fundraising events in his community.

In addition to his culinary talents, Gerald loved the thrill of participating in rodeos and always had a special bond with horses. His loyalty and protectiveness over his friends and family were unmatched, making him a constant source of strength and support.

Gerald was preceded in death by his mother Patricia C. Silva; and granddaughter, Helen.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Shannon Alvarado; parents, Gerald Alvarado, Sr. and wife Ester and David Silva; children, Justin, Patricia, Sandra, Rosalinda, Dominick, Tiffini, Jack Ocheltree, Chanel Garcia, Richard Gonzales and Clarissa Garcia; numerous grandchildren; siblings, Mark and wife Faith, Tiffany and husband Bo, Kenny and wife Angie, Eric and wife Shannon, Ray and wife JoAnn, Gary and wife Savannah and John Ross; along with tons of nieces, nephews and other extended family.

As we remember Gerald, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and the love he shared with all.

Services for Gerald are scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, at Harvest Country Church, located at 3910 FM 1784, Pleasanton, TX 78064.
