Glenn Derrel Riley of Pleasanton passed away at his home on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the age of 90.  He was born in Somerset on October 11, 1933, to John Houston Riley and Addie Mabel (Jenkins) Riley.

A proud United States Army and Korean War veteran, Glenn dedicated his early years to working in the oil fields from the age of 14 until the early 1990s.

After his time in the oil fields, Glenn served as Atascosa County Constable, always dedicated to his community. Known for his quick wit, Glenn had a sense of humor that could light up any room. He was the life of the party, always ready with a joke and never met a stranger.

Glenn had a deep love for his family.  He adored spending time with his grandchildren, taking them for the weekend and creating cherished memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Addie Riley; wife, Betty Riley; siblings, John Riley, Claude Riley, William Riley, James Riley and Charles Riley.

Glenn is survived by his daughters, Glynda Sotello (Sam) and Lynda Schultz (Ricky); grandchildren, Shayna Bryan (Larry McMillan), Clayton Schultz (Ashley), Lukas Sotello (Rebekah Richards) and Cameron Sotello (Talie); great-grandchildren, Reese Bryan, Roree Bryan, Dawsyn McMillan, Sutton Schultz, Landri Schultz, Callen Schultz, Ruger Richards, Madden Sotello, Sahlee Sotello and Sunny Sotello, who is on the way; and sister, Lula Parchman.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel starting at 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  A graveside service will be held at Rutledge Cemetery on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, starting at 10:00 am.
