Gonzalo D. Garcia, passed away peacefully in San Antonio on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the age of 78.  He was born on March 25, 1946, in San Antonio to Mariano Garcia and Cristina (Donato) Garcia.

Gonzalo grew up loving fast cars, music, and dancing. He found his calling as a mechanic and was known for his skills in fixing everything from engines to making different types of jewelry.

Gonzalo also cherished his '57 Chevy named "Froggy" and could often be found admiring the classic lines of the of his prized auto. Most importantly, however, Gonzalo loved spending time with his family, they were his entire world.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mariano H. Garcia and Cristina Donato Garcia; siblings, Mariano Garcia, Jr., Pablo Garcia, Janie Zamora and Leonor Martinez; and nephews, Gabriel Fuentes and Roger Martinez.

Gonzalo is survived by his loving wife, Baudelia M. Garcia; daughters, Cynthia Castillo and Yvonne Sexton (Sean); sons, Gonzalo Garcia, Jr., Robert Garcia (Dora) and Alex Garcia (Jessica); grandchildren, Gonzalo Garcia III, Kevin Garcia, Journey Garcia, Crissy Reyna, Christopher Munoz, Crystal Alvarado, Robert Anthony Garcia, Justin Garcia, Felicia Rangel, Robert M. Garcia, Jr., Alexander Lee Garcia, Alejandra Garcia and Don Sexton; great-grandchildren, Phix Garcia, Madea Garcia, Jasmine Garcia, Matt Andavazo, Hayden Garcia, Olivia Garcia, Isis Reyna, Aries Reyna, Thalia Munoz, Edward Sanchez, Blanca Sanchez, Amelia Rangel, Sage Rangel, Angel Garcia and Cristina J. Garcia; brother, Ted Garcia; and sisters, Dolores Martinez, Angelita Guajardo (Daniel) and Mary Ann Garcia.

A visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 18, 2024, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with a reciting of the rosary at 4:00 pm.  Services will conclude at the funeral home.
