Gregorio Lara Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Boerne, Texas. He was born on May 7, 1941, in Charlotte to Juan H. Lara and Margarita (Ramirez) Lara.

Gregorio was known for his hard work and dedication, spending many years running heavy equipment for Atascosa County. His commitment to excellence earned him numerous certificates throughout his career, reflecting the respect he garnered from his peers. Many will fondly remember him driving vacuum trucks in the oil fields and transporting essential supplies for Frio Pump and Supplies. His contributions to the local community were invaluable.

In addition to his professional achievements, Gregorio served as the Vice President of the Charlotte Community Cemetery, where he dedicated time and effort to ensuring a respectful resting place for the generations that followed.

Gregorio is survived by his common-law wife, Elida Estrada; children, Gregorio Lara, Jr., Ricardo Lara, Roberto Lara, Connie Lara and Carlos Lara; step-children, Angela Estrada (fiancé Leroy Cardenas) and Zowie Estrada (Ashley); brother, Refugio Lara (Raquel); sister, Juanita Lara Lopez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Margarita (Ramirez) Lara; and sisters, Petra Lara Cardona and Basilia Lara Ortiz.

Services are scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025 at Hurley Funeral Home, starting with a visitation at 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 12:30 pm.  Burial will follow at Charlotte Community Cemetery.
