Guadalupe "Lupe"
Hernandez Estrada
Sep 8, 1963 — May 22, 2025
Alvin
Guadalupe Hernandez Estrada, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on September 8, 1963, in Elgin, IL, Guadalupe's journey through life led him to Alvin, TX, where he built a legacy of hard work, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
As a self-employed contractor, Guadalupe was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His hands were often busy creating and building, but his heart was equally dedicated to those in need. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, providing support and encouragement to anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. A beloved figure in his community, Guadalupe was not just a contractor; he was a stand-up guy and a role model whose influence will be felt for generations to come.
Guadalupe had a passion for life. He loved fishing and spent countless hours reminiscing about his adventures and sharing stories that brought laughter and joy to his family and friends. He was a master of the grill, often hosting BBQs that brought everyone together to celebrate life and savor delicious meals. His ability to weave tales filled with warmth and humor will be greatly missed, as will his larger-than-life presence. He indeed leaves behind big shoes to fill.
Guadalupe is survived by his loving wife, Ophelia Huron, and their children Richo Estrada, Rocky Estrada, and Francheska Estrada (Josué Lopez); brothers Carlos and Rosendo Estrada; sisters Chris Estrada Holeman, Christina and Ernestina Estrada; grandchildren Josué Lopez Jr, Katerina, Natasha and Santiago Lopez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. His legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
Funeral services to celebrate Guadalupe's remarkable life are scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025, starting with a visitation at Hurley Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm, with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm. The family will hold a celebration of mass on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at St. Philip of Benizi Catholic Church in Poteet, followed by burial at Estrada Cemetery. (Hurley Funeral Home is not involved in the services on Saturday, June 14, 2025)
The family invites all who were touched by his spirit to join in honoring his memory, share stories, reflect on the impactful moments he created, and rejoice in a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made towards his funeral expenses at Hurley Funeral Home.
Rest in peace, Guadalupe. Your legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire us all.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by: parents Antonio and Anunciacion Estrada; and brother Pablo Estrada.
