Harvey Lee Richter Jr.  (Chancho), 61, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026 at home and surrounded by family.  He was born in Refugio, TX to Harvey Lee Richter Sr. and Sandra Herman Richter.  Chancho worked as a Rancher for many years and then transitioned into the oil field where he spent the rest of his working years.  He was devoted to putting in a helping hand to anyone in need.  Chancho loved his family, friends and BBQing for everyone when they came around.  He also loved hunting, fishing, going to the casino, and hanging with friends around the ring of fire.

Chancho is preceded in death by his father Harvey Richter, Sr.; and mother Sandra Richter. He is survived by his loving wife Deanna White Richter from Fowlerton; brother David Richter and his wife Linda; his 2 beloved sons, Ricky Richter and wife Tina, and Joey Richter; 3 grandsons, Skylar Richter, Brody Richter, and Rowdy Richter; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Richter, Joey Richter, Russel Richter, Reagen Richter, Jerry White II and Chris Rodriguez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rowdy Richter, Skylar Richter, Brody Richter, Ruben Cruz, Danny Morones and Hal Reed.

Services will be Friday, January 23, 2026 at Hurley Funeral Home beginning with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., funeral service at 11:00 a.m. and burial in Fowlerton Cemetery to follow.
