Hector Perales Hernandez Jr., of San Antonio, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at the age of 51. Hector was born in San Antonio on February 3, 1973, to Hector Hernandez, Sr. and Rosa Naranjo Hernandez.

Hector was known for his larger-than-life personality and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. As a jack of all trades, he loved to learn and was always the life of the party with his infectious sense of humor.  Hector worked as a sheet metal worker for Smart Union #67 for seven years and Hector was known for his bravery and dedication to his craft.  Despite his loud and joking nature, Hector will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and protective spirit towards his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hector Hernandez, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Elena Perales and Vidal Naranjo; and stepfather, Melvin Nichols.

Hector is survived by his wife, Melissa Hernandez; mother, Rosa Nichols; sons, Nathan Hernandez, Matthew Flint and Bryan Casarez; brothers, Rene Perez (Rachel) and Gabriel Nichols (Elena); sisters, Ruby Cardenas (Johnny) and Rosie Lopez (Nick); 1 grandson; 1 niece; numerous nephews; along with extended family and friends.

Hector's untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. A memorial service to celebrate his life and honor his memory will be held on a future date, with details to be announced.
