Helen Elizabeth Gibbens passed away at her home in Victoria, Texas, Monday, February 26, 2024 at the age of 96. She was born September 13, 1927 in Campbellton, Texas to Truman Sr and Nettie Elizabeth McAda Clyburn.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and schoolteacher.

Helen is survived by her children, Brenda Kunce and Bill Gibbens, Jr. and wife Eileen.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Travis Oldroyd, Trisha Oldroyd, April Chan, Shanna Kulesza, Shane McPhail, Robbie McPhail Jr., Elizabeth Gibbens, Mary Gibbens, Mackenzie Snider and Zac Snider and great-grandchildren, Brodee Oldroyd, Dalton Oldroyd, Hannah Chan, Sarah Chan, Elianah Chan, Michaelah Chan, Ethan Kulesza, Skyler McPhail, Chloe McPhail, Evan McPhail, Syriana McPhail, Atalie McPhail, Briella McPhail, Cole Easton Snider and Louise Lamar Wilmot.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William Lamar Gibbens Sr; younger brothers, Truman Clyburn, Jr and Jimmie Craig Clyburn and her daughters, Shirley Oldryod and Linda McPhail.

A private graveside service will be held in her honor where she will be laid to rest next to William Gibbens Sr. at the Campbellton Cemetery. Please consider donations to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
