(Howard Franklin) Tooty Carroll, age 87, died on October 5, 2021.

He was born to Ellis and Ruby Carroll on February 18, 1934, in Pearsall, Texas where he was raised and attended school.  He was a star running back and track star for the Mavericks and played football for one season for the Longhorns at The University of Texas in Austin.  After a short stint in the army and working for CP&L, he spent the rest of his work career as a south Texas farmer.  He enjoyed hunting bobcats with his dogs and coaching Little League baseball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Yvonne Carroll, brother Bill Carroll, daughter, Cindy Wallis, son Jim Bob Carroll, and nephew, Hank Carroll.

He is survived by his sons, Joe Carroll and wife Evelyn, Tibby Carroll, Chuck Carroll & wife Clara, daughter, Diane Studdard, grandchildren, Michael & Dehlia Wallis, Kimberly & Bill Goodge, Chris & Lali Carroll, Jessica & Thomas Flores, Josh Studdard, Chuck & Kristi Carroll, CJ & Rebekah Carroll, Collier & Laura Carroll, Courtney & Kasie Carroll, 17 great-grandchildren with another to arrive in December, two great-great-grandchildren, "adopted" son Dallas Collins, two long time loyal employees Frank Aguero & Andres Lieja, and the most loyal dog ever, T-Bone.

Pallbearers are his grandsons, Chris Carroll, Michael Wallis, Collier Carroll, CJ Carroll, Chuck Carroll, & Josh Studdard.

Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Miller, Dallas Collins, LeRoy Richardson, Andres Lieja, & Frank Aguero.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 11, 2021, from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm with a chapel service at 2:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Pearsall Cemetery.
