Obituary

Ildefonso "Lee" H. Davila passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the age of 70. He was born in Poteet on February 15, 1955, to Alejandro B. and Josefa (Herrera) Davila.

Lee was a familiar face on the little league fields, coaching both baseball and softball for years and inspiring so many kids with his encouragement and good humor. He loved getting out for a dove hunt or hitting the golf course with friends, always up for a bit of adventure and a good conversation.

But where Lee really shined was with his grandchildren. He never missed one of their games and could often be found grilling up something delicious at family BBQs or just hanging out, soaking up every moment. Watching the Steelers play—especially with family—was a highlight for him, and you could always count on him to cheer loudly for his team.

Lee's kindness, love for his family, and the joy he brought to everyday moments won't be forgotten. He's left a big mark on everyone who knew him, and he'll be missed more than words can say.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Josefa Davila; and siblings, Paul Davila, Leandra Saenz, Yolanda Vickers and Elida Casias; and son-in-law, Scott Mancha, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Lupe Davila; children, Brandy Santos (Ruben Santos, Jr.), Leslie Davila, Andrew Davila (Crystal) and Samantha Oropeza (Kevin); grandchildren, Matthew Santos (Amber), Scott Mancha, Jr., Nichole Santos (Shasity), Joseph Mancha, Ariana Contreras (Austin), Madison Contreras, Addisyn Davila, Aliyana Davila and Jaxen Davila; great-grandchildren, Rosita Santos, Edward James Taylor, Zaiden Perez, Zaylee Ruiz, Zyla Santos and Zacharie Perez; and siblings, Greg Hernandez (Gloria), Alex Davila (Gracie) and Jesse Davila (Dolores); among numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel starting at 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm.  Mass will be on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 am followed by interment at Madre Dolorosa #2.
