Obituary

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Irene Edith Seiler, who left this world on December 18, 2025, in the comforts of her home in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 102. Born on October 29, 1923, in Las Gallinas, Texas to Charles and Frances Korus.  Irene led a life filled with determination, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the simplicity of country living.

Irene was a beloved teacher, dedicated to nurturing the minds of her students and inspiring a love for learning that extended beyond the classroom. With a remarkable green thumb, Irene found joy in tending to her gardens, nurturing an array of vegetables, crepe myrtles, bougainvilleas, and exquisite hydrangeas. Her beloved pecan trees brought her immense pleasure each harvest season, a testament to her connection with the land and the beauty of nature.  She possessed a quiet strength and a clear sense of purpose that resonated deeply with all who knew her.

A passionate gardener, Irene also embraced the art of sewing and the craft of cooking, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.  She also enjoyed country/western dancing with her husband of 64 years.  Her devotion to her family and her love for ranching were evident in everything she did, reflecting her down-to-earth spirit and steadfast character.

Irene is survived by her son, Charles Seiler, daughter Linda Seiler, and youngest son Ronald (Sharon) Seiler; grandchildren Daniel Seiler, Jennifer Herbek, Diana Sausley, Julia Hall, Christine Clark, Charlie "Max" Dayton, and Amanda Seiler; as well as 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on December 30, 2025, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Irene Edith Seiler. Her final resting place will be at St Joseph Cemetery Leming, Texas, where she will be laid to rest amidst the beauty of the land she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents, Charles and Frances Korus; and brothers Julius, Ernest and Edmond Korus.
