Irene Estrada Tijerina, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of the Poteet community, will be lovingly remembered for her kind and selfless nature. Born on March 10, 1962, in Poteet, TX, Irene had a nurturing spirit that shone brightly in all aspects of her life. Her green thumb and passion for flowers brought beauty and joy to those around her, while her compassionate heart led her to always prioritize the well-being of others before herself.

Throughout her time on this earth, Irene was known as a social butterfly, finding immense joy in engaging with those around her and brightening their days with her warmth and empathy. She had a way of making everyone feel seen and heard, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Irene will forever be cherished by her husband of 40 years Arnulfo Tijerina; her mother Delfina Estrada; daughter Rosemary Monroe and her husband Geoffrey; sons Michael Ronnie Tijerina and Matthew Ray Tijerina; brother David Estrada and sister Linda Galvan and her husband Sonny. She is preceded in death by her father Saragoza Estrada and brother Saragosa Estrada Jr.

As we gather to honor her life and legacy, we invite you to join us for visitation Monday, March 11, 2024 at Hurley Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. followed by the reciting of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024 there will be a Funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Poteet with burial at Garcia Cemetery.
