James "Jimmy" Patrick Scott passed away on February 3, 2026 at the age of 73.  Jimmy was born on January 31, 1953 to Christine and Sidney Scott.  He graduated from Jourdanton High School, where he played football, and then continued his football career at Sul Ross University.  After graduating from college, Jimmy coached at Pleasanton ISD, before beginning his 40+ year career with the railroad working as a conductor for both Southern Pacific and Union Pacific railroads.  Jimmy was a devoted father and grandfather and beloved lifelong friend to many.  He was an avid golfer, loved watching sporting events, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and Sidney Scott, and his brother in laws James Vyvlecka and Gene Matocha.  He is survived by his daughter Lindsay Scott McReynolds and her husband Ben, son Hunter Scott, grandchildren James, Maeve, and Arthur, sisters Joanne Vyvlecka and Barbara Matocha, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Jimmy will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the St. Matthew Catholic Church in Jourdanton, with visitation from 9:00 am - 10:30 am, a rosary at 10:30 am, and funeral mass at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at the St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery in Jourdanton.
