Obituary

July 9, 2024, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his adored pups and his darling wife Jane, James (Jimmy) Kenneth Shearrer passed peacefully.  Jimmy was the only son born to the late Malcom Henry Shearrer Jr and Bobbie (Forrest) Shearrer on November 30th , 1955. He was a typical middle child and often the instigator of shenanigans in the trio that consisted of his sisters Debbie Miles and Suzy Carr (Joe).  Jimmy led a full life in Atascosa County but chose to settle in Valley View with Jane where he lived his best life caring for their farm animals, cruising the lake and lounging on the back porch with their pack of weenie dogs.

Graduating from Pleasanton High School in 1974, he was a proud member of the FFA and a played trombone in the band. After high school, Jimmy immediately stepped into the family business, Shearrer Truck & Pump; spending a short time in law enforcement as Constable of Atascosa County and in later years worked all over Texas in the oil field before settling.   Jim held many titles: water well man, friend, son, brother, husband, father and Pawpaw. It was his title as PawPaw that he cherished the most. From early years with his kids at the infamous Shearrer Bird Hunts and Shearrer Ski trips at the lake; Jim most cherished his days fishing with the grandkids and taking them cruising in the pontoon boat on the nearby lake. Jimmy had many layers and he loved fiercely, always willing to give a piece of himself to help someone else.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Jane (Welsh) Shearrer, children Jimmy Bartosh and wife Kandace, Jason Shearrer and wife Bridget, Jennifer (Shearrer) Wheat and husband Chad, Catie Naylor, Jessye Gordon and husband Josh. Grandkids Jillian and Lexy Bartosh, Layla and Paige Shearrer, Jaycee and Cody Wheat, Riley and Reece Naylor, Emmy and Brody Gordon and the larger-than-life Shearrer Clan full of cousins, nieces and nephews.

They would love to hear any stories you would like to share along with any photos you may have of Jimmy; these may be sent to jenniferkwheat@gmail.com .
