Obituary

Janice Bauerle, beloved mother, and bookkeeper for the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2024, in Jourdanton, at the age of 83. She was born on September 18, 1940, to Delbert and Rubell (Humphries) Cook, in Austin, Texas.

Janice generously shared her passion for Texas Longhorn football and delighted many with her culinary skills in the kitchen. Family was everything to Janice, and she cherished every moment spent with her son, Brian, and the love she had for her grandchildren knew no bounds. Her ability to bring joy to those around her through her exceptional cooking and warm, welcoming personality will always be remembered.

She was preceded by her parents, Delbert & Rubell Cook; brothers, Charles Ray and James David Cook; and nieces, Shelli Smithey and Lori Goldstein.

Janice is survived by her son, Brian (Brandi) Bauerle; sister, Judy (Ronnie) Kitchens; grandchildren, Shyanne, Tyler, and McKenzie Bauerle, and Will (Tori) Wright.

In tribute to Janice's vibrant life, a celebration of her life will be held later. This ceremony will reflect all the happiness and love she brought into the lives of those around her. Janice will always be remembered for her infectious spirit, love for her family, and passion for the Texas Longhorns. Let us honor her memory by continuing to spread love and unity in our own lives. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
