Javier Mateo Duran, a beloved member of the Charlotte community, passed away on June 28, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on August 20, 1962, in Mexico, Javier immigrated to the United States, where he became a dedicated US citizen residing in Charlotte, TX. Javier, a hardworking and humble man from a Ranch Hand at Hindes Ranch and ended his career in The Oilfield Industry, found joy in singing, dancing, and scratching off lotto tickets. His selflessness and outgoing nature endeared him to all who knew him.
Javier's proudest roles were those of a devoted spouse of 41 years to Minerva Duran, and loving father and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his grandkids and was always willing to help others, consistently putting their needs above his own.
Javier is survived by his wife, Minerva Duran; children Javier Duran, Jr., Alfonso Duran (Fina), Gladys Del Rio (Jose A), and Anacruz Reyes (Alfredo); brothers Jaime Luis Duran (Guadalupe) and Leopoldo Duran (Dora); sisters Rosa Maria Mata (Jose), Victoriana Sanchez (Amador), Guillermina Lopez (Juan), and Maria del Carmen Lerma; mother-in-law Rebeca Lopez and sister-in-law Maria Genoveva Duran; grandchildren Dominic Duran, Dylan Duran, Julian Guillen, Elijah Duran, Giovanni Duran, Kylee, Camille, Christopher, Christian and Mason Del Rio, Alondra, Anahi, and Alexia Reyes; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Maria Duran; brothers Juan and Victor Manuel Duran; sisters Olga Salazar and Cristela Duran; father-in-law Rodolfo Reyes; brothers-in-law Ciriaco Lerma and Juan Salazar.
All services for Javier will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Charlotte, TX. A public viewing will take place on July 3, 2024, at 2:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Mass in honor of Javier will be held on July 4, 2024, at 10:00 am at the church.
Javier's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his joyful spirit and unwavering compassion. May his legacy of love and service continue to inspire all those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral expenses through Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, TX or to a charity of your choice in his honor.
