Obituary

Jean Carol "Jeepy" Lott Crouch was born on September 26, 1930 in Poteet, Texas to John Carroll & Annie Laurie Harrison Lott.  Jean lived in Poteet and attended Poteet Schools her entire life before she went on to Baylor University in Waco in 1948 where she participated in intramural sports and other club activities. She had the proud distinction of serving on the Court of the very first Strawberry Festival.

She was the middle child of Mr. And Mrs. Lott and with that placement came her responsibility of being her father's "little boy". With this title, she was allowed to follow her father around, ride motorcycles and fly an airplane. Being a young lady, she also learned the craft of housework from her mother. Jean was an exceptional baker, her cakes were described in detail in the newspaper by Columnist Sammie Franklin.

She married the love of her life in 1950, Thomas Bryan Crouch Sr. Bryan and Jean built a home where love and worship of God were at the center, raising three children into adults with unwavering faith and service to others. Jean served as an example to not only her children but her community. Jean and Bryan were both dedicated public servants.

Jeans's life is one of making the best of her time on Earth. Jean helped Bryan when they started the first EMS Service in Atascosa County. She served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Sheriff Tommy Williams. Jean was a schoolroom mother at the Poteet Elementary, a school bus driver, a role model, shared her talents with others, and loved her family with every ounce of life she had.

Known to her family as the matriarch, to her friends she was "Jeepy". She will be greatly missed but we thank God she was our matriarch. Jean is survived by her Husband Thomas Bryan Crouch Sr., her 3 children Laurie Louise Crouch Miller Wilson (Buddy), Thomas Bryan Crouch, Jr (Bonnie) and Robert McLain Crouch (Sandy) , her sister Robbie Jeanette (Lott) Hesskew, 4 Grandchildren; Les Miller (Jennifer), Lyle Miller (Jennifer), Thomas Bryan Crouch III (Codi), Brittany Crouch Jordan (Tyler) and 9 Great Grandchildren.
