Jerald "Jerry" Eugene Favor, age 77 of Pleasanton, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 9, 2024. Born on Wednesday, November 13, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas. Jerry was a beloved son of Thomas Eugene Favor and Katherine Virginia McDonald Favor.

Jerry graduated from Pleasanton High School and furthered his education in Uvalde. He proudly served in the Army National Guard, dedicating himself to the values of duty and community. Jerry's commitment to service was evident in his work as well. He was a dedicated conductor for the Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked for 28 years. ensuring safety and reliability.

Beyond his professional life, Jerry was a cherished member of several organizations, including The Shriners, and the NRA, contributing actively and enriching the lives of many. His meticulous nature carried over into his personal pursuits; he enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fisherman, often found relishing the quietude by the water.

Jerry's dry sense of humor and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a great son, brother, uncle, and friend. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his brothers, Donald Favor (Shirley) and Robert Favor (Diana); nieces, Cindy Fisher, Renise Watkins, and Brandy Lawhon (Eric); nephews Dustin Favor (Tracy) and Dennis Barrow (Heather); and great-nieces and nephews, Gabrielle Fisher, Katherine Montiel (Hugo), Edward Fisher, Bryce Favor, Elizabeth and William Watkins, Lauren, Lily and Connor Barrow, and Conner, Devin and Colt Lawhon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association to fight Alzheimer's and Dementia, a cause important to Jerry and his family.

Visitation and services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, with visitation starting at 12:00 pm followed by services at 1:00 pm, at Hurley Funeral Home, in Pleasanton. Interment will follow in Pleasanton City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers for Jerry's service are Bryce Favor, William Watkins, Dennis Barrow, Eric Conner and Devin Lawhon. Honorary pallbearer will be Jackson McGinley.
