Jesus E. Pena passed away July 1,2023 in San Antonio surrounded by his loving family at the age of 61. He was born on August 4, 1961 to Jesus and Guadalupe (Esparza) Pena in Pleasanton, Texas.

Jesus is preceded by his parents Jesus and Guadalupe (Esparza) Pena.; four brothers, Gregorio E. Pena, David E. Pena; Jerry E. Pena and Alonzo E. Pena; sister Hortincia Quintero.

Jesus was very involved his community serving on the Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years, and every Friday night you could find him " Under the Friday night lights", rooting on his favorite team Jourdanton Indians, watching his grandson on the field. He not only loved football, fishing and BBQ Competitions with his latest win taking 6th place with his family last May during "Jourdanton Days."

He is described by his family as a lovable man, jokester, making everybody laugh and giving everyone a nickname. He loved his wife, grandkids, daughter and his pride and joy his sister, "Delia." Jesus wore many names with pride starting as husband, dad, brother, Popo, uncle, cousin and to whom all knew him a great friend. Jesus worked for the City of Pleasanton for 18 years, Poteet ISD for 10 years and K&M Irrigation for 13 years.

He is survived by the love of his life Josefine "Josie" Pena for 31 years; son Jose T. Harandez, Daughters Olga Irvegas(Joe) and Margaret Castillo (Manuel, JR.). Grand children: Nathaniel Beniveds, Manuel Castillo III, Christian Castillo, Jordan Castillo, Dylan Masingail, Jonathan Jesus Castillo, Makaylla Castillo, Logan Masingail, Garret Masingail, Reba Masingail, Juanito Irvegas, Great Grandchildren; Icagden Castillo and Christian Castillo, JR.; brothers and sister Margie Salinas of San Antonio, Jesusa (Susy) Pena, Elida Herrera (Lupe) of Pleasanton, Anita Pena, Delia Brister (Clarence) of Jourdanton, Joe Pena, and Mirado Pena of Pleasanton.

Jesus will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Family will be accepting friends and family Friday, July 14, 2023, starting at 6:00 PM to 8:00PM with a Rosary being recited at 7:00pm at St Andrew Catholic Church in Pleasanton, Texas. Mass will be Saturday July 15,2023 at 10:00Am At St Andrew Catholic Church with Interment to Follow at San Ysidro in Pleasanton, Texas
