Jimmy C. Salazar of Jourdanton, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was born in Jourdanton on Tuesday, June 9, 1942 to Rojelio and Jovita (Cruz) Salazar.
Jimmy and his family spent many years in Texas before moving to Detroit, Michigan to pursue his career as a residential and commercial carpenter. His siblings soon followed, where they still reside, connecting the family roots between the two states.
Upon returning to Texas in the late 70's, Jimmy built the Salazar Ranch, where many grandchildren spent their early childhood and created lasting memories, creating Home for generations to come.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Olga Z. Salazar; daughters, Bertha Rodriguez, Sylvia Salazar, and Leticia Z. Salazar; son, Alfredo Salazar; grandsons, Alyx Becker, David Rodriguez and wife Kathleen, Cody Salazar, Corbin Jones, Eli Jones, and Hunter Jones; and granddaughters, Analisha Nazario Salazar and husband Noel Nazario Perez, Bobbie Heritage and husband Jeffrey, and Anaceli Alviso. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Nova Gawlik, Sebastian Nazario Salazar, and Benjamin Nazario Salazar; brother Joe Salazar, and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers for Jimmy's funeral are Alyx Becker, Cody Salazar, David Rodriguez, Corbin Jones, Eli Jones, Hunter Jones and Jeffrey Heritage.
Visitation will be held on WEDNESDAY, April 30, 2025, at Hurley Funeral Home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on FRIDAY, May 2, 2025 at St. Matthew Catholic Church at 10:00 am with interment to follow in Salazar Cemetery.
