Jody Wayne McBee, 48, of Pleasanton, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Jody was born in Brady, Texas on July 6, 1974 to Robert Nathan McBee & Lucy Anne (Keene) McBee.

Jody was loved by many for his kind personality & willingness to give.  Even through the difficult days, he was willing to help if he could. Jody knew no strangers. He would talk to anyone, anywhere, for as long as they would listen. He was a bright light that could pick you up when you were down.

Jody worked for his parents at McBee's Bar-B-Que all of his life. He had to have cooked thousands of briskets, rings of sausage & slabs of ribs throughout the years. Almost every shirt that Jody owned was ridden with grease stains from the BBQ.

Jody loved ALL sports.  Especially the ones that his son played. His favorite thing to do was to watch Robby at the field or on the court. He would go on and on about every play and how proud he was to be his dad.

Jody enjoyed livestock. He showed steers for many years & loved to watch his niece & nephew continue the tradition. He would randomly go by their house to give his opinion about each steer. He came to many of their shows to cheer them on.

Jody is survived by his son, Robby McBee, brother, Wade McBee & his wife Kelly, niece, Gracee McBee & nephew, Bo McBee. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jody is preceded in death by his parents, Robert McBee & Lucy McBee.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 11:00am at Cowboy Fellowship Church in Jourdanton. Jody will be laid to rest next to his parents in Voca, Texas at a later date, with a private ceremony for immediate family.
