Joe (JT) Trevino, Jr., 82, of Leming, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2024.  He was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 2, 1941.

Joe was known for his open and friendly nature, outgoing personality, and a heart as big as Texas.  He was very charitable and always ready to lend a helping hand where needed.  He loved God and shared his faith wherever the opportunity arose.  From the early to mid-90's he served in a family nursing home ministry and brought many smiles to those he served. He also loved sharing his Jewish roots and was always eager to explain that his boss was a Jewish carpenter.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joe Trevino, Sr.; his mother, Amparo (Ruby) Adams; and brothers, Patrick (Buddy) Trevino and Howard (Buster) Adams.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Pierce Trevino; and children, son, Justin Wesley Trevino, and daughter, Jamie Leigh Trevino; grandsons, Steven Lee Titzman and Quinten Jude Trevino; brothers, Carlos Trevino and Rusty Adams; along with an aunt, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Joe attended Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio, where he made quite a name for himself in both basketball and football.  He later continued his quest for knowledge through various continuing education courses at San Antonio College, proving that learning never stops.

In the professional arena, Joe was a true sales superstar and won several awards for his sales records.  But when the workday was done, his true passion shined.  He loved nothing more than watching sports with his son, Justin, fishing with family and swimming.  When he was younger, he was quite a dancer.

A graveside service will be held at Tumlinson Cemetery in Leming, starting at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 13, 2024, followed by a reception at Verdi Community Center, where there will be a celebration of Joe's life.

Instead of flowers, those attending are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert and a favorite memory to share.

Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, is assisting with the arrangements.  The family appreciates the support they have offered, and the detail given as they handled Joe's arrangements with sympathy and care.
