Joe John Vyvlecka, Jr passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on May 26, 2023 in Sandia, TX at the age of 94. He was born on March 21, 1929 in Jourdanton, to Joseph and Adela Vyvlecka.

Joe was a great guy who served his country in the Army during the Korean War.  He was a hard worker that owned and operated a dairy farm from which he retired.  After retirement, he could not just still, so he began working as an appliance repairman.  He was a kind man with a big heart, he would refurbish old appliances that customers no longer wanted so he could then provide them to people who could not afford one of their own.  Joe would meet with a group of friends at the "Old Folks Corner" at Whataburger in the morning where they would solve the world's problems one at a time.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and just being outside. He will be dearly missed.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Adela Vyvlecka; infant son Stephen Vyvlecka; brothers Robert and Frank Vyvlecka; sister Rosemary Jaksik and son-in-law Butch Myrick.  He is survived by 7 children, Beverly Myrick, Linda (Marvin) Whitley, Mark (Debbie) Vyvlecka, Stanley (Shelby) Vyvlecka, Larry (Mildred) Vyvlecka, Chris (Kendra) Vyvlecka, and Tim Vyvlecka; sister Florence Polk; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Vyvlecka, Dillon Vyvlecka, Travis Whitley, Brady Vyvlecka, Conner Vyvlecka, and Chris Rhodes.

All services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 beginning with visitation from 9:00 am-10:00am, reciting of the rosary at 10:00 am and funeral mass at 10:30am all at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Jourdanton with burial at St. Matthews Catholic Cemtery following mass.
