**Obituary for John (Joe) Roy Bond**

John Roy Bond, a beloved husband, father and friend, and dedicated fire alarm inspector, passed away on December 13, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on January 19, 1951, in Gonzales, Texas, John lived a life characterized by warmth, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.

John dedicated over 42 years to the safety industry, culminating in a significant tenure as Inspections Manager for 1st Fire Protective Services in San Antonio, where he contributed for over 12 years. Prior to that role, he spent more than two decades with Tyco Simplex Grinnell, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to fire safety, John made a lasting impact in his field.

Beyond his professional life, John was a passionate calf roper and team roper, finding joy in the camaraderie and challenge of the sport. Later, he turned his love for the game into mentorship, coaching softball pitching and inspiring young athletes with his expertise.

John's inherent kindness was a defining trait; he had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. As a loving and loyal husband and father, he exemplified devotion and support, creating a nurturing home filled with love and laughter.

John is survived by his beloved wife of over 22 years Shara Bond; children Colten Buendel (Lexi Ash) and Emmalee Bond; as well as many other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by: father Virgil (Jack) Bond, and mother JoAnn Miller Bond. Also by his uncle Norman (Pete) Bond and cousin Denise Moon.
