Johnny Torrez Coronado was born on August 31, 1974, in Jourdanton, Texas, and whose light extinguished on August 19, 2024, at the age of 49 in Pleasanton, Texas.

He enjoyed going fishing in the boat and riding around town in his Pontiac Sunfire with the music very loud.  Johnny loved making jokes to have everyone laugh and smile.  He was a devoted father and grandpa and was known as the cook at Church's Chicken for 19 years and was given the nickname "Big John".  Johnny also worked at CS Remodeling for 3 years, Alpine Silica for a year and a half, Johnny's Paint and Body for 2 years, and with Frank Leal for 3 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony "Antonio" Jr. and Marcelina T. Coronado; grandparents, Antonio and Francisca Coronado and Aurelio and Dominga; and grandchildren, Serenity and Faith Castillo.

Johnny is survived by his children, Carolina Coronado (Randy), and Cruz Coronado (Cheyenne); grandchildren, Madelyn Castillo, Randy Silva, Jr., Silas Coronado and Malachi Coronado; siblings, Becky Bosquez (Elvis), Mary Ann Coronado (Gilbert), Gloria Garcia, Francis Coronado (Jesse), Ray Coronado (Nancy), Alex Coronado, Paul Coronado and Ruben Coronado (Melissa); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm.  A graveside service will be on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Pleasanton City Cemetery, starting at 10:15 am.

Pallbearers will be Cruz Coronado, Joey Aguero, Cesario Aguero, Andrew Dillard, Alberto Dillard and Elvis Segura.
