Jonette Coble Persyn age 83 passed away peacefully, on June 10, 2023. Jonette was born October 4, 1939 in Poteet, Texas to Chester and Irene (Kosub) Coble.

Jonette spent her early childhood in Poteet before moving with her family to Verdi. In her early teens she would meet the love of her life, James "Jim" Persyn. They were married November 19, 1953 in Las Gallinas, TX. Shortly after Jim joined the United States Army which took him and Jonette to Washington State. In 1955 they welcomed their daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Persyn and in 1958 their son, Jeffery " Jeff" Persyn. Before long Jim was discharged and they came back to Texas.

Jim, Jonette, and the kids lived many places in South East Texas in the early 60's due to Jim's job in the oil field. During this time Jonette had obtained her beauticians license which was a career that still allowed her to be a supporting wife and mother. No matter what town they were in she always made it feel like home. She adored her children and took pride in being a wife and mother.

After the passing of Jonette's father, her and Jim decided to move back to the family farm in Verdi to help support Irene in this difficult time. Jim started farming and ranching and in the 70's they purchased and opened Jim's Drive Inn in Leming, TX. Jonette was an excellent bookkeeper and would help Jim manage the farm and ranch for the next 40+ years and the store for 30+ years. In the early 2000's they decided it was time to retire and sold the store, Jim stopped farming, and scaled back on ranching. They loved to travel, gamble, and spend time with their family.

Jonette will be remembered by all who knew her as loving, caring, and hardworking. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to whoever was in need or where ever she could. During her life she was able to help many people in tremendous ways, including taking in and caring for her treasured friend and employee Ramon "Raw" Cisneros. She also raised her nephew Ricky, who she considered a son.

She was a phenomenal cook and even better baker. She also enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, and entertaining company at her cherished home. She loved to celebrate holidays with her family and spend time with her only granddaughter, Janee.

Jonette was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Irene Coble, her loving husband of 65 years, Jim Persyn, her daughter, Jackie Persyn, her daughter-in-law, Pam Persyn, and her beloved Aunt Lou, Lucile Aigner.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Persyn, Ricky Coble and wife Roxcee, only granddaughter, Janee McDonald and husband Jeremy, and great-grandson, Blain McDonald. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to thank Dolores Lopez, Carmen Segura, Nancy Garza, and Nora Rosas for the amazing care they provided to Jonette in her final years, especially in the last months of her life.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy McDonald, Doug Williamson, Jack Persyn, Cayden Coble, Roger Gillespie, Charles Novak with honorary pallbearers Ricky Coble and David Soward.

Services for Jonette Coble Persyn are scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2023, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, starting with a visitation at 9:30 am, reciting of the rosary at 10:30 am, and a mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, located at the corner of Hwy 281 and FM 536.
