Jose Cabasos Rodriguez, age 95 went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 13, 2016.

He was born August 15, 1920 in San Antonio, TX to Alfredo and Casimira Rodriguez. He married Guadalupe Trevino on August 5, 1941. They had 9 children. Jose loved to garden. He Loved baseball. He Loved music but most of all, He loved his Family.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Guadalupe, his sons, Manuel T. Rodriguez and Juan T. Rodriguez, his brother, Pete Rodriguez and his great granddaughter, Vasity Whiteman.

Jose is survived by his daughter Esperanza Smith and husband, Norman of Ovid, MI, His sons, Jose Rodriguez and wife Merry of Pearsall, Roberto Rodriguez and wife Lamar of Bandera, TX, Raynaldo Rodriguez and wife Yolanda of Ovid MI, Mario Rodriguez and wife Anita of Crawford, TN, Fernando Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez and wife Lori of Kerrville, TX and daughters-in-laws, Santa and Ester; brothers, Nicolas Rodriguez of Pearsall and Fermin Rodriguez and wife Genoveva of Eagle, MI; sisters, Viselia Chela Longoria of Pearsall, Lupe Sanchez of Houston, Maria Elizondo of Pearsall, Chavela (Isabela) Cubriel and husband Oscar (Sonny) of Pearsall, Margarita Tonsul of Prospect Hts, IL. He has Seventeen grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall with interment to follow in the Catholic East Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Manuel Rodriguez, Nathan Smith, Alex Rodriguez, Christopher Rodriguez, Christopher Moreno, Rocky Rodriguez, Garrett Rodriguez and Dylen Rodriguez.
