Jose (Joe) Luis Castillo, age 72, was born on December 26, 1952 in Pleasanton, Texas, and Joe was called home on September 6, 2025.

Joe was a good family man and he loved spending time with his family.  He was a migrant worker, where he would travel with his family to Michigan, Ohio, Florida and Oklahoma.  The last job he worked was at the Convention Center, helping set up for events.

He was survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eva (Rodriguez) Castillo; his sisters-in-law, Juanita (Janie) Castillo and Soila (Paula) Castillo; his uncle, Pablo Castillo, Sr.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Marcela Castillo Sr.; son, Jose (Joe) Luis Castillo, Jr.; brothers, Manuel Castillo Sr. (Sally), Juan Castillo (Tina), Antonio (Tony) Castillo and Martin Castillo Jr.; and sister, Mary Fernandez.

All services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2025, starting with a visitation at 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm.  Joe will be laid to rest at St. Andrew Cemetery #1.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Castillo, Gabriel Castillo, John Henry Castillo, Manuel Castillo, Jr., Aaron Ruiz, Sr. and Aaron Ruiz, Jr.
