Jose L. Martinez, age 87 of Dilley, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, in Cotulla, TX. He was born March 12, 1933 in Geronimo, TX, to parents Pablo Martinez and Rosa Lopez Martinez.

Jose, was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Minga H. Martinez. In addition, he was preceded in death by brothers: Domingo Martinez, Lupe Martinez, Sabas Martinez, and Fernando Martinez.

He is survived by his sons, Roy Martinez and Jose Luis (Joey) Martinez both of Dilley; brother Candelario Martinez and sister Dominga Zepeda both of Dilley.

Jose served our great country in the Army as a Corporal from July 14, 1953, to May 18,1955.

Visitation and Rosary will be on Friday, November 27, 2020 in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM Saturday, November 28th, in the St, Joseph Catholic Church, Dilley. Interment will follow in the Dilley Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Domingo Martinez Jr., Aniceto Martinez, Juan Martinez, Robert Martinez, Erik Martinez and Ernie Martinez.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, facial coverings or face masks will be required and social distancing will be observed. Please limit physical contact to members of your immediate family only.
