Josephine Fowler, age 82, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Tilden, Texas and spent her life devoted to what mattered most to her-her family. A proud homemaker, she created a loving home filled with warmth, generosity, and care. She was known for always helping others, offering kindness, support, and a listening ear to anyone in need. Her giving spirit and selfless heart touched countless lives.
She is also a member of Mt Sanai Baptist Church in San Antonio where she assisted with the food bank.
She shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Nick, and together they built a strong and loving family. She was a devoted mother to her four daughters: Nancy Bender, Diane Fowler, Karen Fowler and Stacy (Jose) Ramirez. She was a cherished grandmother to ten grandchildren: Andrew Cagle, Caitlyn (Lauren) Benavides, Jonathon Suarez, Chesney (Alberto) Diaz, Hayes Ramirez, Garrison Fowler, Harrison Bender, Bowen Ramirez, Hudson Kennedy, and Nolan Fowler. She also was a great grandmother to Ximena Diaz.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Ismael (Socorro) Gonzales Jr, Helen Rachal, Gilbert(Grace) Gonzales, Richard Gonzales, Ellie Gonzales, Ruben (Roxanne) Gonzales, Robert (Cricket) Gonzales. Her cousin Juanita Connie Garza who is more like her sister as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
She is preceded in Death by her nephew Michael Rachal, Her parents Dolores and Ismael Gonzales, brother George Gonzales, Sister Mary Zuniga.
Josephine's legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the family she held close. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2025, at Hurley Funeral Home, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm. On Tuesday, December 23, 2025 a celebration of mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tilden, starting at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Hilltop Cemetery.
