Born on February 26, 1980, in Peoria, IL, Joshua Michael Mummert embarked on a life filled with adventure, love, and cherished moments. It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce his peaceful passing on December 9, 2023, at his residence in Poteet, Texas, at the age of 43.
Joshua, known to his loved ones as Josh, was a compassionate, fun-loving husband to his beloved wife, Katie Estrada, and a devoted father figure to their children. He was a pillar of strength and support for his family, always going above and beyond to ensure their happiness and well-being.
Josh had an enthusiastic love for the great outdoors. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the depths of the woods, where he indulged in his passion for deer hunting, fishing, camping, and sitting around open fires, sharing stories and laughter with his companions. He reveled in the beauty of nature and enjoyed hiking through picturesque landscapes and hunting for mushrooms, setting foot on countless trails across the country.
For more than two decades, Josh dedicated himself to his profession as an over-the-road truck driver in the transportation industry. Known for his strong work ethic, he approached every journey with dedication and a sense of responsibility. Through countless miles, on winding highways and country roads, Josh's unwavering commitment allowed him to form lifelong friendships and have memorable experiences on the open road.
Behind his adventurous spirit and dedicated nature, Josh always valued the importance of family. He cherished the moments spent with his loved ones, creating lasting memories. His remarkable presence brought joy to those around him, and his laughter filled the room, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who crossed his path.
Josh will be deeply missed by his wife Katie Estrada; daughters Addison Mummert, Isabella Mummert, Ivory Estrada, and Amanda Estrada; his parents Sally and James Mummert; brothers Christopher and his wife Trudy, Kyle and his wife Lynzi and Evan Mummert; grandparents Loris and Lottie Stisser and Mary Mummert; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members and friends who were fortunate to have shared in his extraordinary life.
