Juan Salazar
February 27, 1944 – October 6, 2026
Juan Salazar was born on February 27, 1944, in Jourdanton, Texas, to Trinidad Salazar and Maria Garza Salazar. He passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the age of 82.
Juan was a simple, hardworking man with an outgoing personality who found happiness in the things he loved most—his family, working on cars, and spending time together. He especially looked forward to Sunday lunches surrounded by family, watching football, attending drag races, and working on the family street car. Whether he was under the hood of a car or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, Juan treasured the time spent with his family.
Juan is now reunited with his beloved wife, Cora Salazar, who preceded him in death, as well as his brother, Trinidad Salazar.
He is survived by his sons, Roland Salazar and wife Barbara, John Joe Salazar Jr. and wife Michelle, and Tommy Salazar and wife Diana; his sisters, Lupita Duran and Cynthia Gonzales; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Gabriella, Mayo, John Joe III, Samuel, Shayleen, and Sabrina.
Juan's legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Jonathan Jr., Jaythan, Alejandra, Araceli, Jayden, Kobi, Gianni, and Samuel P.
Juan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will forever carry with them the love, laughter, and memories they shared, finding comfort in knowing he is once again reunited with his beloved wife, Cora.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Hurley Funeral Home, starting with a visitation at 10:00 am followed by a chapel service at 11:00 am. Mr. Salazar will be buried next to his wife, Cora Salazar at St. Andrew Cemetery #2.
