Juan Rene Tijerina passed away peacefully at his home on January 7, 2023, at the age of 53.  He was born in Andrews, Texas to Amado "Mayo" and Maria Ermina (Santos) Tijerina.

Juan worked at Waste Management for 17 years, and he loved his job.  He was a loving and caring soul, who was always helping others.  Juan loved to have cookouts with family and friends and was always the center of the party and joking around.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Amado and Maria Tijerina; and brother Eddie Tijerina.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Norma Tijerina; daughter, Herlinda Tijerina (Demarian Knotts); one grandbaby on the way; brother, Francisco Amado Tijerina, Jr.; sisters, Janie Winn, Maria Balderas (Emilio), and Isabel Vega (Sam); sisters-in-law, Belinda Tijerina and Lisa Reyes; aunts, Alicia Lopez (Ernest) and Concha Valdez; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

A visitation is scheduled from Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, starting at 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm.  Services will conclude at that time
