Obituary

Juanita "Janie" Rodriguez, aged 65, passed away January 17th to be with Her Lord Jesus Christ. Janie was born in San Antonio, Texas, May 21st, 1958, the third child of Luz and Julia (Garcia) Rodriguez also of Pleasanton. She attended Pleasanton High School, where she ultimately met Lino Rene Navarro. Janie and Lino married in April 16th, 1977 in Pleasanton, TX, where they created a home. Janie and Lino have two children, Christopher Rene Navarro and Dorian Navarro, both of Pleasanton.

Janie enjoyed attending church, reading the word of God and was strong in her faith. She also had an amazing creative streak, spending her time with arts and crafts and gardening plants. Janie was well-known for creating wonderful holiday and gift wreaths, which people enjoyed in
their homes.

Mostly, Janie loved attending her grandson's Bryan's athletic events, becoming a huge supporter of the Pleasanton Eagles. She attended Bryan's baseball, football, and track events, even traveling around the state to provide grandmotherly support.

Janie loved being present for her family and friends and cooking was a way of showing her care and devotion. She was the first to provide support when family and friends needed someone. She loved our Texas Gulf coast, spending time in Corpus Christi and Port Aransas. New Orleans held a special joy for Janie as well, and she loved the food and music of the French Quarter. She could always be found planning her next 'girls' trip.'

Janie loved creating a wonderful home for her family. She loved decorating and rearranging her home and ensuring that she provided a lovely space for everyone to feel welcomed and loved. Janie is preceded in death by her father, Luz Rodriguez, Sr; her sisters Margarita Rodriguez and Teresa (Rodriguez) Gallegos. She leaves behind her beloved son and daughter, Christopher and Evangela (Gonzales) Navarro and Dorian Navarro; her mother, Julia Rodriguez; her brothers, sisters and in-laws, including, Manuela Montemayor, Isabel Gonzales, Rosel and Idalia (Rios)
Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, and Luz and Cindy (Chapa) Rodriguez, Jr.. She also leaves her only grandson, Bryan Elliot Jones, and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
