Julian Pena passed away in Jourdanton on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the age of 79.  He was born in Poteet on January 28, 1946, to Anastacio and Angelita (Sanchez) Pena.

Julian was known for his outgoing spirit and his deep love for family. He was a true family man who loved being around his 2 favorite nieces, SYLVIA PENA and Melinda Pena.

Julian enjoyed good music and loved sitting down for long chats, laughter, and perhaps a cigarette and drink or two. His larger-than-life personality drew people in, and his friends will surely miss his warm presence and engaging conversations.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Julian Pena, Jr. and Gilbert Pena; sisters, Aurela P. Jimenez and Rita Zamora; and brothers, Tibrucio Pena, Frank Pena, Joe Carlos Pena, Alfredo Pena and Juan Pena.

Julian is survived by his sons, Arturo Pena (Lisa), Jesse Pena (Dorothy) and Jimmy Joe Pena; sister, Simona Chapa; brothers, Jacinto Pena (Mary) and Rudy Pena (Anna); 9 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for Friday, June 13, 2025, at Hurley Funeral Home, starting with a visitation from 8:30 am until 10:00 am, with a reciting of the rosary at 10:00 am and a prayer service at 10:30 am.  Burial will follow at San Pedro Cemetery in Poteet.
