Kasey Sue Mitchell of Pleasanton, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday April 21st, 2023. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 22, 1952 to Sam H. Kennedy Sr. and Myrtle Kennedy.

Kasey grew up on the south side of San Antonio for most of her childhood and attended Southside High School. She married her husband of 52 years Jerrell Mitchell Sr. on August 28th, 1970. They moved to the Pleasanton area in the late 1970s to raise their family in a more rural environment.

Kasey was preceded in death by her parents and her son Darrell Dwayne Mitchell.

She is survived by her husband, Jerrell; her 3 sons, Jerrell Mitchell II and wife Nikki; Tommy Mitchell and Jamie Moore; Jason Mitchell and wife Tiffany; her brother, Cortney Kennedy; her grandchildren, Tayler, Tommy, Jerrell III, Justin, Meagan, Cade, Skylar, Kenley, and Katie; and 5 great grandchildren.

Kasey began her career in the healthcare industry as a dietary supervisor and worked her way up to become an Assistant Administrator. A few things that Kasey was exceptional at were cooking, crocheting, and her green thumb in her flower beds and garden. Kasey loved to be reading a good book with a hot cup of coffee, listening to her music, and most of all spending time with her family. She was the true definition of a matriarch for her family and will be missed dearly.

A funeral service will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, on Friday, April 28, 2023, starting at 12:30pm. Interment will follow in Oak Island Cemetery, 2970 Devilbiss Lane in San Antonio.
