It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Burkholder, who died on September 6th at the age of 85. He passed away in Jourdanton after a life well-lived.

Born in San Antonio, Kenneth was the child of Ruby (Currie) and Benny Burkholder. A graduate of Southwest High School and Texas A&I, he dedicated most of his career to teaching math at Pleasanton High School.

In his early days, Kenneth traveled the country (and Canada), participating in rodeos with his brother. He had a gift for explaining difficult math concepts and sponsored many successful UIL Number Sense students. He was a beloved teacher, and he was always excited to see former students. He enjoyed watching local sports, especially when one of his grandchildren was competing. His most recent favorite TV show was The Family Feud (only with Steve Harvey as host).

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan; his children, Arlene, Brad, and Jay; his grandchildren, Bailey, Sarah, Brooke, Kenny, Jackson, and Zachary; his great-grandchildren, Riley and Demi; his sisters, Joyce Watts and Mary Ann Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Benny and his brother, Jack.

A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Pleasanton on September 13th at 10:30 am followed by a reception at the Lions Club in Pleasanton. ALL FLOWERS WILL NEED TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH.
