Larry D. Martin went to his forever home in heaven on February 11, 2023.  He was born on December 10, 1942 to A.G. and Mary Martin in San Antonio.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Golda Martin; grandson, John Michael Mayberry; his mother and father; and his brother John Martin.

Larry is survived by his 2 daughters, Sharon Mayberry (Duane) and Patty Williams; 4 grandsons, Rick Mayberry (Stacy), Larry Mayberry (Lindsay), Matthew Mayberry (Marissa), and KJ McKenzie (Ashley); sister, Helen Pratt; brother, David Martin (Shirley); 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry spent his life dedicated to serving God; during his time in ministry, he had the privilege of Pastoring seven churches, was on staff at two other churches, and was a former Director of Missions for the Coastal Bend Baptist Association.  He loved people and telling them about Jesus. He was a baseball card collector as well as a Dodger fan.  He enjoyed hunting with his daughter Patty and his grandsons.   Larry touched the lives of many people, and he will be missed dearly.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Brite Cemetery with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Charlotte-173 S. Yule Ave.
