With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lawrence Bert Cole "Big Mula", a beloved husband. Father and grandfather, who peacefully left this world on August 30, 2024. Born on December 27, 1953, in Pleasanton, TX, Lawrence's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication to his family.
Lawrence's journey was defined by his unwavering love for his spouse, Irma Cole, and their cherished moments shared with their grandchildren. A hardworking man and devoted provider, Lawrence never faltered in his commitment to his loved ones. Despite facing numerous health challenges, he faced them with courage and determination, serving as an inspiration to all who knew him.
A friend to many in the community of Pleasanton, Lawrence's warm heart and kind demeanor touched the lives of countless individuals. His legacy of compassion and generosity will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
Lawrence Bert Cole may have left this world, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, dear friend.
Lawrence was preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Bessie Cole; son, Lawrence Cole Jr., stepbrothers, Lonnie Wayne King, Anthony Ray King and Leo Melvin King as well as his sister Hettie Watson.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years Irma Cole; daughters Jeanette Pacheco, Jessica Cole and husband Fred Meneses, Johanna "Hanna" Tijerina and her husband TJ, and Nicoya Flowers; sister Myrtle King; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
Graveside service on September 21, 2024 at 10:00 am at Jacob's Chapel Cemetery off Martinez Street in Pleasanton, TX.
ALL FLOWERS WILL NEED TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CEMETERY - Hurley Funeral Home is not involved in the service. Thank you.
