Leona worked as a waitress at Shearer's & 3 Oaks, then at Dairy Queen through 3 generations of family, at counter, as a manager, as a Supervisor of 4 stores, then in the office. She retired from Dairy Queen after 37 years.

Leona crocheted many afghans, & knitted, but her main hobby was sewing. She sewed her husband Don a Western Shirt, that he wouldn't wear, so it hung in the closet 2 years before she gave it away. She loved to sew her own clothes, her kid's clothes, doll & Barbie clothes. She helped her sister-in-law Diane with volunteer sewing. She made ties for DQ employees, and aprons for them at Christmas time. She was thrilled to be asked by some of her Granddaughters to alter dresses.

To Leona family was everything, & she loved having family & friends to gather at her house in Pleasanton, Texas over many years. She wants her family & friends to remember to hug each other & to keep each other close. She feels that she is the most Blessed person on earth with her family. God has blessed her all her life. Each & every one of you has brought her so much Joy, (even when you didn't mind) She has such heartwarming memories of her life. She had some deep valleys to climb out of, but God was patient & helped her to climb out. She thanks God that each & every one of you were in her life!! She was so proud of you all!!
