Letha Ellen Fennell, 86 of Pleasanton passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was born in Von Ormy, TX on Thursday, June 23, 1938 to Frank Henry and Lottie Mae (Stacey) Maske of whom she was preceded in death by, as well as her 1st husband Marlow Earl "Buddy" Hime Sr. and 2nd husband Buddy G. Fennell.

Letha is survived by her daughters, Lana Beth Robertson (Michael), Laura L. Davis, Lachael L. Gomez; sons, Clifford Dale Hime, Marlow Hime Jr., Michael Jay Hime (Tracey), Frank Hime; two bonus kids, Keith Fennell (Sandra) and Lauren (Wayne) Barron, 20 grandchildren, and 41 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one great-great grandchild.

Letha lived a full and adventurous life, she grew up in The Blackjacks then moved to Charlotte where her and her first husband Marlow Earl "Buddy" Hime lived and raised a family, she moved to Jourdanton for a couple years after her first divorce then met and married Buddy Fennell, afterwards they moved to Oklahoma, then Iowa, Missouri, Delta, UT, Rock Springs, Wyoming and back to Jourdanton where she resided on Chestnut St for many years until dementia and ultimately Alzheimer's got the better of her.

Letha was a wonderful woman with a beautiful soul, smile and a great sense of humor, throughout her life she had many favorite pastimes and hobbies among them were gardening, canning, making homemade wine, and sewing, she got great enjoyment out of making clothes for herself, her two younger daughters and her grandkids while they were little, she also made Barbie clothes. Letha also enjoyed ceramics and Toll painting, while later in life she found a passion for quilting.

Letha loved music and dancing whether it was by herself to a Bob Seger or Freddy Fender song or with her grandkids or kids at a family gathering.  If you knew anything about Letha or as we call her Mom, Mema, grandma Letha or friend, you knew she was a fabulous cook and one of the best around and no matter the time of day, if it was 8:00am or 2:00am if you showed up at her house you could guarantee you'd be fed.

Letha loved her dogs and cats, NASCAR, country music, Rock & Roll, antiquing, yard sales, and hunting.  Letha held several jobs in her life, the Atascosa Livestock Exchange (bookkeeping), Country Kitchen in Jourdanton, Christensen Clothing store in Utah, a fabric store in Wyoming, Wal-Mart (Fabrics dept. and the Garden Center) and she was a hard worker and dedicated.

Letha was a beloved mother, grandma, great grandma, and friend who will be greatly missed, cherished and loved for eternity. The family of Letha Fennell would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for love and care the she received over the years while at Retama South Nursing and Rehab Center in Pleasanton, Texas.

A celebration of life will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
