Lois LaVerne DeLeon, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023, in Pleasanton, Texas. Born on August 27, 1943, in Crystal City, Texas, Lois led a life filled with love, compassion, and laughter.
Lois was a remarkable woman who had an unwavering love for dance. Her vibrant spirit always lit up the dance floor, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to share in her passion. With her infectious laughter and quick wit, she could turn any room into a haven of joy. Her kindness and sweet nature made her a beloved friend, and her tough resilience earned her a reputation for being as strong as nails.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Hattie Crawford; sister Barbara Meyer, and grandson Joshua Riley.
Lois dedicated her life to nurturing her family, always putting their needs before her own. She was a proud mom and grandma, cherishing the time spent with all of them. She is survived by her children, Tina Buratovich, Stephanie Riley (Edward), Elizabeth Myers, Milton Groff Jr. (Rosemary), Carlos DeLeon (Alicia) and Natasha DeLeon Santellano (Mike); brother Derald Crawford (Rowena); grandchildren Laura Criswell (Thad), Erika Arrellano, Kloye Delgado (Nicolas), Shelby Riley, Colby Riley, Shana Thornton (Jesse), Makayla Groff, Kennedy Groff, Katherine Groff, Meghan Hudson (Phillip), Zachary Myers, Elijah DeLeon, Noah DeLeon, Ezra DeLeon, Nadine Rogers and Emily DeLeon; and 20 great-grandchildren. Her open arms and warm heart provided a safe haven for loved ones to seek comfort and solace. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will take place at the Charlotte City Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. in Charlotte, Texas 78011. Pallbearers will be Trey Meyer, Brock Meyer, Phillip Hudson, James Henry, Mike Santellano, and Mike Meyer.
The legacy of Lois LaVerne DeLeon will live on as a testament to a life well-lived and the impact she made on those who had the privilege of crossing her path. Though she may no longer dance among us, her spirit and memory will forever be celebrated in our hearts.
