Lou Ella Murray passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born on January 4, 1932 in Carbon, Texas to Leaster Vaughn and Mary Catherine (Martin) Vaughn.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She married Melton Clive Murray on May the 28th 1949 in Carbon Texas. They made Pleasanton their home in 1956, where they raised their two sons, David Truett Murray and Charles Douglas Murray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melton Clive Murray and her son, Charles Douglas Murray.
Lou is the last of the founding members of Trinity Baptist Church - Pleasanton, Texas, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was devoted to her church and her family. In 1970, she enrolled in a vocational school to become a licensed vocational nurse. She worked at the Tri City Community Hospital in Jourdanton, Texas for 20 years, which later became Methodist Atascosa. In 1991, she began serving as a member of the Atascosa County Child Care Board, where she served until 1996.
She is survived by her son, David and wife Maura Murray, daughter-in-law, Dawn Murray, eight grandchildren and their spouses, Summer and Desmond Daigle, David Charles and Stefanie Murray, Brandon and Mylinda Murray, David Jr. and Tiffany Murray, Rebecca and Todd Sparrow, Melissa Badgett, Kerianne and Guy Oliver and Matthew and Carrie Murray, her great-grandchildren, Jayce Daigle, Macey, Megan, and Madison Murray, Adelyn, Cooper and Corinne Sparrow, Samuel and Shay Oliver, Ashlynd and Richard Esquivel and Liam Demarchi, and one great-great-grandchild, Delilah
Esquivel. All of her family will miss her and they share fond memories of frequent Sunday dinners with lots of laughter. Lou is home now with her husband and son and her Sunday school class, as she missed them all very much.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 starting with a visitation at 1:00 pm, and service at 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church in Pleasanton, with burial to follow at the Pleasanton City Cemetery.
