Manuel M. Camacho of Jourdanton, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus on the eve of May 1, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving wife and children.  He was born at his grandparents' farm located on CR 2875 near Big Foot, Texas to Faustino Sr. and Romana Camacho.

Throughout his childhood, he grew up farming peanuts in the 1950's and 1960's.  On July 15, 1967 he married the love of his life, Simona Hernandez and would have celebrated 58 years of holy matrimony this year.  In the late 60's he took a job working at the Smith Ranch in Tilden, Texas, where he worked cattle.  In the early 70's, he took a foreman position at the 7-UP Ranch off 2146 on Hannon Road in Atascosa County. There, they would raise 100's of cattle for L&H Packing which was later bought out by Carta Blanca.  In the early 80's Manuel moved to Jourdanton and started working construction with his brothers.  In the mid 80's he and his brothers took a job in Brownsville with Peerless Construction where he resided for 5 years until completion of the job.  Returning to Jourdanton in the early 90's, he continued his career in San Antonio working construction with his brothers.  Manuel retired in 2010 and enjoyed dancing, riding horses, roping, fishing, hunting, gardening, barbequing, and most importantly spending time with his family.
